 Purchasing LicensesAs of January 1, 2012, the Sterling Town Clerk's Office will no longer serve as a vendor for Mass Wildlife for issuing fishing, trapping, hunting and sporting licenses and stamps. You may purchase your licenses at WalMart in West Boylston (137 West Boylston Street), WalMart in Leominster (11 Jungle Road), or at Dick's Sporting Goods. Licenses may also be purchased online (see below).
Online purchases require the following:
- Major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express)
- A local printer to print your licenses, permits and/or stamps
- Plain, white letter-sized paper.
Fishing Licenses
A fishing license is required for all fresh water fishing in Massachusetts, for residents age 15 or older.
Hunting & Trapping Licenses
A hunting or sporting license is required for all hunting in Massachusetts for anyone 15 years or older. Trapping licenses are required for anyone 12 years or older. The minimum age for hunting is 12 years old and hunters aged 12 - 14 must be accompanied by a licensed hunter 18 years or older. Significant restrictions apply.
